You guys. I love Valentine’s Day. The kids love Valentine’s Day. Hubby loves Valentine’s Day… now. He didn’t used to, but I am very convincing!
The other day he came in as I was working on some Valentine items. “You know what’s so great about you? You do all this stuff, and you make everything so fun and happy… but you actually LIKE doing it. You’re not doing it and then being all crazy and stressed about it, you know? Thanks for doing Valentine’s Day, sweetheart.” It kind of made my day – or my week – maybe even my month. He’s right that I love doing it, but some things are definitely just a little more fabulous when you know someone cares you’re doing it… amiright? Anyway, the POINT IS – it was Valentine’s Day and Hubby had to work his regular shift, so we had a Baby Valentine Breakfast.
And here are the photos!
One thing I’ve learned over the last few years of parenting is that pretty creativity is appreciated as much by kids as by anyone else. Mikey and Ellie were thrilled with little things like the ribbon scraps tied around their mugs, and the $3 bunting stuck in the pancakes. Parenting has given me a whole different creative outlet and I simply love being able to share it with my family.
Once Hubby left for work, the afternoon was pretty much like any other… except that today we had Valentine BALLOONS! I love quickly capturing these moments so that my favorite mini memories will be preserved in photo form. So much love, today and every day of the year.
